I no longer have use for this website. I'm only using it for email. I asked my web hosting if I could change my account to email only, but they said their system isn't set up for that, but they'll discount my fees. So, I decided out of good faith to close and remove this website and only use it for email.

I have a website I host personally for various uses. Fell free to visit.

Also, if you're looking for a good, reliable hosting company, I strongly recommend Stormwire.

The eulogy to MinusMay.com

The end of MinusMay.com.....for now at least. -- Posted by Jason on Friday, March 31 2006
A part of growing up is putting away childish things. As we grow, we must leave things behind. Just as with a stuffed toy, things must be put away, never to be played with again. We must discard our toys and take hold of tools. Toys may teach, but tools pull one forward. This doesn’t only allow us to grow; it also allows us to reflect. As I look back on the years of MinusMay.com, I have memories of an easier time. There were no bills to pay and little to call responsibility.

All these years, the good and the bad, I was given a way to work through questions and theories. I have much to owe to MinusMay.com; if it wasn’t there, I wouldn’t be able to make a living on web administration and design. If it wasn’t there, I would not be sure what I would want to do in life. No one I know would want to repair computers for 40 years only to die penniless.

This may not be the end of MinusMay.com as a domain. This isn’t even the end of MinusMay.com the website. She will be back. This is the end, however, of what MinusMay.com was and the meaning of the domain name. The meaning has never been told…even when asked. It’s a question: “If you can take a month out of a year, what would you do with it?” It’s a rather abstract question, for it is impossible in all realms of realty. Time can’t be removed, nor can it be transformed. I ask myself such questions as this all the time. Good way to keep myself on my feet. Typically I always have an answer. This one, however, I wasn’t able to answer until now. This question is that of time, and it only can be answered that way. My answer is just as abstract as the question, for it really has to be. “I will take that month, hold onto it for seven years, trade it for a new month, put that new month right back where it came from, and hold onto the memories my old month has collected.” I know, fairly abstract for me being right lobed. But really, that’s what MinusMay.com was….an abstract. It didn’t birth Slowho, but it gave it its life. The same is true with Mellow Grass Mass.

I’ll end this on the poem that seems to be the best way to end the life of MinusMay.com – the Parliament Letter/Nae Monarchy. The first paragraph holds the meaning of the spirit this site has held, which was mostly based on pure nonsense. The second paragraph is a reflection. It also holds true on pain that can be felt if one holds on to things that must be left behind. Not all of the last seven years have been great, and this is pretty much a testament and my personal reminder on how to reflect on such memories.

My name is Jason of the long and narrow bridges of Nea Monarchy.
Where the fern grows like flowers and flowers grow like fern;
flees are wiled and beer is tame
(don't step in the bushes).
Candles are as delicious as candy and candy tastes like wax.
Wax is rubber, and rubber is like this glue that doesn't stick to anything when you want
it, and dose in the wrong place.
Questions are wiled;
Can Pigs fly?
where do cars come from?
Why do we have feet,
and why don't fish?
do some fish have feet?

You don't ever want to go there;
buildings smell like grass and the land is made of plastic.
Trees have the Rubbermaid symbol on them and lakes are copyrighted.
If you are there leave now,
never come back,
never look back!
Run my friend!
Run like there isn't yesterday or today, but there is a tomorrow.
Get that tomorrow, until tomorrow is today.
Make the reminder of Nea Monarchy a short one, but fresh.
Don't forget!
Don't remember,
collect but don't save.
Don't look back,
don't go back-
ever!
